With many of us starting to take the marathon running seriously, we need to start focusing on the intricate details that go into running a safe, injury-free run.
With the right guidance, understanding and compliance, one can improve one’s overall running performance.
Care should be taken not to be too overenthusiastic, or underprepared, as both of these extremes can lead to unwanted injuries, thus self-sabotaging your marathon dream.
As a Physiotherapist, I can help your team go through with the marathon, with a better knowledge about the biomechanics of injuries and how to prevent and/or tackle them if they occur. I shall help clarify your doubts, misconceptions and discard myths regarding running.
Also, many of us choose not to run the marathon, because of some pain or the other. It’s important for us to understand that all patients need not skip the marathon. They should undergo proper evaluation, rehabilitation, and then can resume running, once given the green signal by the physiotherapist.
